Project Car Stories: KP Silent

Project Car Stories: KP Silent

It started with Fast and Furious and NFS Underground 2. That was enough to get me hooked, and from that point on cars meant something to me that was hard to explain to anyone who wasn’t into them. I also can’t forget about Streeter organizing meets near Miklavž.

My first car was a Honda Civic, 1998. I bought it before I even had my license. Unfortunately the floor was way too rotted out, and since I was still in school I couldn’t afford to fix it properly, so I had to sell the car.

On the 18th of November 2024 I bought a VW Scirocco R, 2012. Project car and daily at the same time. The moment I brought the car home I did a service first. Since it would have been too easy otherwise, I also had to replace the oil sump and the oil feed pipe. Right after that I changed the exhaust to a catback sport exhaust and put on rose gold 20 inch wheels. But because the exhaust had no documentation, I put the original one back on. That was everything for that year.

Then in 2025 I got into a car crash and the front end of the car was completely smashed up. I used the opportunity to convert the front end to the facelift, meaning the 2016 look. All the new parts are original VW. And of course, most of the factory parts on the engine that are on the car have also been changed for better or higher quality aftermarket parts. So right now, as I’m writing this, the car still sits on the same 20 inch wheels, but with the new front end and a lot of quality of life modifications on the engine, along with a new custom exhaust system with a 200 cell catalyst. For anyone curious, all the modifications are homologated, including the ones on the engine.

For all the haters, yes, it is an R, it is not a glorified 1.4 TSI with an R body kit.

What I respect most about this community is when people come together for charity meets. You see builds that genuinely stop you in your tracks, you see the effort people pour into their cars, and you realize this is something real. That energy is what keeps me going.

There are times I think about selling the car and giving up. Then I remember the smile on my face driving home from Kranj, from the place where I bought it, all the way to home that day. My smile said everything.
